Ulugbek Astronomical Park: A New Landmark for Science and Culture

The Astronomical Park Ulugbek transforms a historic part of Tashkent into a new cultural and educational hub. Located on the grounds of the Astronomical Institute, the park preserves the historical essence of the observatory while introducing modern recreational and scientific spaces. The project covers over 8 hectares and is masterfully divided into several key functional zones.

The park’s design emphasizes its role as a living educational environment. The main attractions include a state-of-the-art planetarium, a science museum, and an amphitheater for public events. Visitors can also enjoy a water promenade, children’s entertainment centers, and various open-air educational exhibits. Commercial and residential areas are also integrated into the plan, ensuring a vibrant and dynamic community space.

The architectural language draws inspiration from the geometry of Islamic art, celestial motifs, and the traditional colors of Central Asia. This approach creates a unique dialogue between the past and the future, allowing the park to serve as a hub of leisure and open public space while offering an immersive experience into the world of astronomy.The project was developed within the framework of international architectural collaboration with Dilnoza Axmad.
